List of Top 10 songs by Green Day of all time Till 2017

10. Wake Me Up When September Ends

The fourth single from the “American Idiot” was one of Green Day’s great hits. It was closer to the end of the album, but before the main character died. Appositely, the plaintive ballad stroked a mournful tone which is mostly at odds with LP’S middle-finger anarchism. However, the song still conformed to the album’s theme. It also stood as one of the beautiful works Billie Joe Armstrong has done.

9. Welcome to Paradise

“Welcome to Paradise.” In a way, the song symbolized Green Day’s rise after releasing their “Dookie” album. The song is about how you can make it by yourself in this big, bad world. Green Day first released “Welcome to Paradise” on their second album in 1992, but the version on 1994 “Dookie” album turned to be tougher. It also forcefully pushed the band’s fear and excitement.

8. Brain Stew/Jaded

After releasing “Dookie,” Green Day released a mess album “Insomniac.” They produced it hastily, and as a result, they produced a few memorable songs. “Brain Stew” appears in the middle of the 1995 album “Insomniac” as a single and in addition to that, it is a highlight. It featured dirge-like riffs which take around 4 minutes of the song running time. Maybe, the song wouldn’t have made it to the top 10 list without the riffs.

7. Minority

Life has its ups and downs! After Green Day had released “Dookie” which impressed most fans, they went through a tough time. In the year 2004, “American Idiot” appeared and saved their sinking career. At the time it seemed like the group would leave the music world just like other 90s rock ‘n’ roll music groups. “Warning” (2000) and “Nimrod” (1997) are the group’s most available albums, but “Minority,” a single from the former, is among the band’s best songs. In addition to being both a simple and complex song, it also hinted at the many things to come.

6. J.A.R (Jason Andrew Relva)

Green Day produced a song for movie “Angus” after the success of “Dookie” even though nobody bothered to watch it. J.A.R was a tribute to bassist Mike Dirnt’s friend who passed away in a road accident. Luckily it reached number one on modern rock chart, and what’s more, it has been a favorite at most of their live shows. With its chainsaw guitars and rolling drums, the song sounds great to most people’s ears. It’s also better than anything that follows on the “Insomniac album.”

5. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

A song that has appeared in almost all video montages on TV and graduation ceremonies, “Good Riddance,” has been in existence for over 15 years. The song is somehow great and possibly reminds us of the time Armstrong was an excellent songwriter. It is the groups’ most adaptable track, and Armstrong has performed it severally at Green Day concerts. People are more likely to remember Green Day for this timeless track. This is one of the Green Day Top 10 Songs of All Time till 2017.

4. Longview

Green Day’s 1994 album “Dookie’s” featured “Longview” as the first track. “Longview” was also the song that gave fans a taste of Green Days. Anybody would like to announce himself to the mainstream with such a great four-minute song. The song shifts from bass-driven verses to memorable guitar-fueled choruses. The song lifted the band to a higher height even though Armstrong would have disclosed more with his lyrics.

3. When I Come Around

Armstrong was writing this great hit to his future wife. However, the song proved that the band was capable at rock moves just like it was at punk modeling. Until the band’s “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” stood at number 2 in the year 2005, their “When I Come Around” was still their biggest hit. The song had already hit number 6 on pop charts one decade earlier. “When I Come Around” is typically a love song.

2. Basket Case

Green Day included five singles on their 1994 “Dookie” album, but possibly “Basket Case” is the greatest in the album. From a viewpoint, the song is Green Day’s most typical song. Apart from its mad house title, it is also the bands’ sturdiest song. Killer performances and killer riffs dominate the entire song.

1. American Idiot

“American Idiot” appeared in the year 2004. At a time Green Day was in need of much help. The band had spent around one decade trying to satisfy ‘Dookie”s unexpected success. Their songs “Warning” and “Nimrod” hit Top 10, even though they remained there for a very short time. After around four years, Green Day returned with their concept album which represented their growth in music. Most of the group’s albums focused on healing, but “American Idiot” had its center on direct action. The music took a bigger step towards traditional rock sounds.

2. Amy
