The Japan Self Defence Forces (JSDF) is constituted of service branches like the Japan Ground Self Defence Force, the Japan Maritime Self Defence Force and the Japan Air Self Defence Force. Currently, the active personnel in JSDF are about 247,150 and the annual budget was estimated to be about $41 billion that is 1% of its GDP. As Japan has highly innovative manufacturing industries, the domestic providers for the defence are companies like Mitsubishi, NEC, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Daikin Industries, Komatsu Limited, Henderson Group and others. The foreign suppliers in defence sector for Japan are the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Russia, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland and Sweden. The country is very active in Anti-Ballistic Missile defence program and other peacekeeping programs in the world.
